The cathedrals, small churches, rows of prayer candles, Picasso, Dali, food, fruits, vegetables, alleys, flags, store windows, the Parade of Giants - all full of colors. I will miss the colors. I will miss Barcelona.
My fascination with doors has evolved into loving graffiti covered doors. Doors with colors. Alive. Bright. Brilliant. There is a story they want to tell.
And then there is Gaudi! He understood how color and forms could take us beyond just architecture and art and into another realm. Bold. Brilliant. Bright. Playful. Honoring nature and yet expressing it in his own form.
I had often heard people say the first time they stood in front of the Sagrada Familia they cried. I never felt that way. We had gone past it a couple of times, but I never felt like crying. Then we went inside. And I wept.
So rather than words, I hope the colors of Barcelona speak to you too.
Adios Barcelona, it's been real.
